The Kairn has a smooth, magical, warm, tube-like sound. The highs were sweetly rolled off and absent of any solid state harshness. Bass was rich but not too boomy. Add the MM and MC phono inputs and the the Kairn is a steal for under $ now. No wonder it has won many positive reviews over the years.
